FEE SCHEDULE
Effective 1/1/2024
Litigation Consulting/ Expert Witness Fees
- First hour of consultation is free to licensed attorneys.
- Hourly office rate $250.00 for time thereafter spent actively engaged in activities communicating with client, researching issues for formation of expert opinions and drafting reports as a consulting or disclosed expert witness, and trial or deposition preparation.
- Deposition testimony - $1750.00/day, payment due at time of deposition.
- Remote Deposition testimony (Zoom) - $250.00/hour, 4 hour minimum billing.
- Trial testimony - $1750.00/day
- Travel time billed $75.00/hour (portal to portal, anywhere greater than 100 miles from Missoula.)*
- Ordinary travel expenses.*
- NEW CLIENTS will be required to provide $3000 retainer w/contract.
Policy Consultation and Development
- Half hour initial consultation free to Law Enforcement Executive.
- $80.00 to $125.00/hr depending on project requirements.
Police Training
- $150.00/hr standard (negotiable)
- Plus - mileage, housing, per diem and course materials cost as necessary.
Independent Reviews/Investigations
- $100.00 to $150.00/hr depending on assignment.
- Ordinary travel expenses.
Speaking Appearances:
- Ordinary travel expenses reimbursement.
- Honorariums accepted.
Ordinary Travel Expenses*
- Federal rate mileage reimbursement or actual car rental expenses,
- Economy airfare (including cancellation or schedule change costs),
- Lodging and meals, and
- Reasonable incidentals.
* During the months of October-May, Mr. Muir is regularly outside the U.S. and special arrangements for travel cost-sharing from Mexico City, Mexico may be required for trial or deposition testimony.
